Optional add-ons:
Add Fluoride filters if your town supply is adding fluoride to your water and you want to reduce the high concentration. Fluoride is naturally found in many water supplies, but recently, councils around New Zealand have been adding this substance in much higher concentrations.
We have used a Gravity Water Filter system with our young family for years. We have found our kids drink a lot more water now than they used to. They even see the water tastes better, with our youngest boy turning down 'bad' tasting water elsewhere.
It's easy to fill up and gives you an idea of how much water your family drinks each day.
We have added Elite Shungite stones into the reservoir of our one to help re-mineralize the water and add the benefits of Shugite harmonized water.
Fluoride filters are available and can be used to work in combination with the two included Black Carbon Filters. You will need to match the number of Fluoride filters to the number of Carbon Filters you use.
Set up Instructions:
- Simply unbox your new Gravity Filter and check everything is there.
- Wash all the stainless steel parts by rinsing them under a running tap.
- Install the sight glass: Remove the sight glass from the box and locate the 2 rubber washes, 2 x stainless flanges and nuts.
- Place one flange and one washer on the thread of the sight glass and push this through the reservoir.
- Next, place another washer and flange on the thread from the inside. Place the nut on last and tighten with a spanner (NOT INCLUDED). Be sure not to over-tighten the nut to avoid damaging the washer.
- Unbox the Black Carbon filters and remove nuts and washers. Repeat the above steps with the filters so that they are positioned in the top water compartment.
- If you have fluoride filters, these are attached to the thread of the carbon filters by screwing them on instead of the nut. These fluoride filters will be in the 'reservoir'.
- Fill the top water compartment half full and allow to filter through the water filters to activate them and remove any residue carbon.
- Tip this water out, don't drink it.
- Refill your top water compartment and enjoy your water.
